Prochaska connected on 8-of-11 shots from the floor, including a career high six 3-pointers, giving her 215 3-pointers in her career - one behind Liz Honegger for tying the school's career record.
Prochaska did, however, pass Honegger on BG's career scoring list, moving into sixth place with 1, 528 points in her Falcon career.
"Lauren was very aggressive offensively in the second half," coach Curt Miller said. "[She] put the team on our back and was just outstanding offensively."
Prochaska's 23-point offensive burst in the game's final 20 minutes came after a first half in which the Falcons as a team struggled to find their shot.
BG shot just 38 percent in the first half and trailed 35-30, as the Cardinals scored 20 of their points inside the paint.
BSU's inside presence was mostly occupied by Emily Maggert, who finished with a game-high 28 points.
"We struggled in the first half offensively," Prochaska said. "We weren't doing what our game plan was; we weren't running our offenses the way that we know how to run them and should be running them."
Down 46-36 early in the second half, the Falcons offense put their struggles behind them and went on an 18-0 run to take a 54-46 lead, a lead they would never relinquish.
However, the Cardinals played tough down the stretch and found their rhythm offensively much like the first half, cutting the deficit to as close as two points.
Clinging to a 74-72 lead, BG's Tamika Nurse went to the free-throw line four times in the game's final 1:24, knocking down 6-of-8 free throws to seal the win.
The Falcons shot 50 percent from the field in the second half (12-for-24) and got to the free-throw line 25 times - this coming after just one trip in the first half.
"It was a really gutsy road win," Miller said. "I'm very proud of them sticking together as a team."
While Prochaska and Nurse finished with points of 26 and 15 respectively, the Falcons received a big lift from Breske, who posted a double-double of 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Freshman and Indiana native Chrissy Steffen had eight points in the win, setting new personal bests in minutes played (25), rebounds (five) and assists (five).
The win improves BG to 19-5 overall and 9-1 in the MAC to remain a game ahead of Akron in the East Division race.
The Falcons will continue their two-game road trip and their final cross-divisional game of the regular season Wednesday when they play at Central Michigan beginning at 7 p.m.
